Due to drying:<br \/>\no High film thickness.<br \/>\no Too fast hardeners and thinners.<br \/>\no Short flash-off.<br \/>\no Too high IR temperature.<br \/>\no Too short flash-off in wet-on-wet process. film.<br \/>\n\u2022 Presence of humidity on the metallic surface before applying the anti-corrosive primer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REMEDY<\/strong><br \/>\nSand the rusted part carefully until bare metal, sand the steel sheet by removing all rust, clean the metal substrate by means of suitable detergents and then repeat the process starting from the anticorrosive primer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PREVENTION<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Repair the damaged points of the paint film as soon as possible.<br \/>\n\u2022 Clean accurately the metallic surface, dry it with clean short flash-off between coats or before the clearcoat application.<br \/>\n\u2022 Thick or thin basecoat application.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REMEDY<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Sand slightly and recoat.<br \/>\n\u2022 If the haloes appear by spraying, spray in a uniform way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PREVENTION<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Use appropriate application techniques to reach a correct film thickness on the whole surface.<br \/>\n\u2022 Apply a coats-number as indicated in the data sheet.<br \/>\n\u2022 Always control if the finishing coat needs a coloured underground: if the case always apply the Inspection with lens may reveal a small impurity at the base.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CAUSES<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Incorrect use of antistatic clean cloths, that can contaminate the substrate.<br \/>\n\u2022 The spray booth and\/or the substrate are contaminated with silicone.<br \/>\n\u2022 Contaminated compressed air (presence of water, oil, grease, wax).<br \/>\n\u2022 Solvent contaminated spray gun when using water-borne products.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REMEDY<\/strong><br \/>\nAllow the film to harden:<br \/>\n\u2022 Remove by sanding the affected paint, clean accurately and re-spray.<br \/>\n\u2022 If the paint still forms craters, add a specific anti-silicone to it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PREVENTION<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Clean and degrease the substrate thoroughly before spraying the nex coat, using specific ANTI-SILICONE solvent.
